C hapter 15

Zay was waiting for me when I got off of work the next night. I’d been ignoring him since I’d left his house almost two days ago. I couldn’t deal. I needed to regain control of the situation with him immediately, because I was slipping into the idea of having him around all of the time, and that was dangerous. I needed space. Obviously, that wasn’t happening.

He was leaning against his Camaro, which was clearly parked illegally, looking too good for words. He had on a baseball cap again, his jet-black curls, almost completely hidden. I felt the usual immediate tightening in my lower belly as I approached him.

“What’s up, Kitten?” His hands were stuffed in his pockets and he cocked his head at me that adorable grin fixed on his handsome face.

“You’re gonna get towed,” I said, eyeing him before glancing around for the campus cop that liked to hang out around the shop. I didn’t see him though. There were just a few students walking on the well-lit sidewalks, heading back to campus.

He grinned, playfully. “Then hurry up and get in so I can move.”

He reached and tugged the bottom of my t-shirt, pulling me flush against him. I didn’t even try to resist him.

“I’m not going anywhere with you,” I managed, tilting my head up to meet his charcoal eyes, my heart beating faster.

It was disturbing how tuned my body was to him. He’d barely even touched me but all of my senses were heightened, keyed to his touch. His eyes were dancing with amusement and desire as he stared down at me, running his hands from my waist to my hips and back up.

“I have something you want though.”

His voice had dropped a couple of octaves and the sound reverberated through every inch of my already stimulated body. His hands slid to my butt and he pulled me tighter against him, his obvious arousal pressing into my abdomen. I felt a little better knowing that he reacted the same way to me.

“I don’t think I want that,” I said unable to keep the breathiness out of my voice as I struggled to suppress a grin.

He chuckled. “Liar,” he said, kissing my chin.

“I’m not lying.” I shook my head and he kissed the corner of my mouth.

“But I really want to give it to you,” he said darkly, clearly enjoying the game we were playing.

“You think I really need it?”

I bit my lip and stared up at him, pressing my body into him. His eyes darkened a fraction as I trailed my fingers over his t-shirt down the hard planes of his chest, my own breath increasing because I couldn’t tease him and remain unaffected.

“Yes, I really think you do.” His voice was husky and I let my fingers graze the waistband of his jeans.

“Mmmm…nope,” I said as breezily as possible. “I don’t think so.” I backed away abruptly, even though it took everything in me to step away from him.

He chuckled, running his teeth
